Essential improvements

Skip intro videos
  1. Open <path-to-game>\Init.tsc in a text editor.
  2. Remove every line that starts with ChoosePlayMovie.
  3. Save the file.

Issues fixed

Shrimp Bug

With high framerates, shrimps in The Desserted Kitchen get stuck inside of their bucket that they are supposed to jump out of. Luring them into rat traps is required to complete the mission.
Cap frame rate to 180 FPS or lower.

Installer Won't Open

The installer creates a registry key meant to prevent the user from launching another instance. However, it can sometimes fail to clear those keys, preventing the installer from launching.
Delete the installers registry keys
  1. Open up a command prompt with administrator privileges.
  2. Run: reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Asobo Studio\Ratatouille" /f.

Inverted Y-axis

This game has the Y-axis inverted by default. There's an option to invert the camera but will invert both axes.
Invert Y-axis only
  1. Navigate to your systems Configuration file(s) location.
  2. Change the value of InvertYAxis to 1.

This can also be done in RatataR.

Ratatouille is uninstalled when installing WALL-E

If running the installer for the retail version of Ratatouille for most regions while WALL-E is installed, the installer will not install Ratatouille without uninstalling WALL-E first, or vice versa.[2] This happens because the InstallShield installer for both games uses the same ProductGUID: B94C6815-7BCC-4124-AC39-9208A06FFFA7, therefore one game's installer tries to access a folder with the already existing uninstaller for the other game.
The version of Ratatouille in the "Action Pack 3 Games in 1" Release does not have this problem as it uses a different installer than the one used in the standalone edition.
Rename/back up the uninstaller folder for the other game

If both games are to remain installed, it is necessary to modify the name of the uninstaller folder for one of the games (which contains the ProductGUID) so that it does not match the name of the other game uninstaller. The reason for this is that both installers attempt to create and access the same folder, which in turn causes this issue. This change will prevent the first-installed game from being uninstalled via the "Add or Remove Programs" menu until the folder is renamed back, since both entries in this menu point to the last-installed game; however, manually executing the uninstaller will still allow either game to be removed.

  • Install WALL-E normally.
  • Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information, (if navigating using File Explorer, hidden items may need to be displayed).
  • Locate the folder named B94C6815-7BCC-4124-AC39-9208A06FFFA7 and rename it to something memorable, such as WALL-E.
  • Install Ratatouille.
