The INTRODUCING CAD/CAM resources consist of three projects that guide you through 2D CAD/CAM to 3D Solid Modelling using AutoCAD R14 and OpenMind HyperMill V4.

Project one looks at designing and making a chocolate bar mould using 2D CAD/CAM.

The second project shows how a vacuum forming mould for 3D products can be made using 2D techniques.

The third project introduces you to 3D CAD/CAM using solid modelling.

This guide will help you to convert scanned Bitmap images into AutoCAD DXF line files using Corel OCR-TRACE V6.

DESIGNWAVE 3 (ProDesktop 3) REPORT (Introduction) - This report intends to briefly outline the main functionality of DesignWave 3 and provide an indication of its suitability to model aircraft. It will identify DesignWave's key features, illustrate how these could be used to create aircraft parts, and concludes by describing its suitability for school use. (Download size 666Kb)

Appart from the links to web pages given throughout this site, here are some other useful web sites:

Autodesk Home Page - the people who make AutoCAD

CADALOG - a very useful resource for AutoCAD

CADIT - an interactive tutor for learning AutoCAD

The Autodesk File - everything you need to know about the people who make AutoCAD

Dr DWG's CAD Links - a wealth of information about using AutoCAD

Microsoft Flight Simulator Resources - There is material developied in US schools that addresses geography and navigation, flight instruments, principles of flight and understanding aviation vocabulary.

The material is all based on Microsoft Flight Simulator 95, and the control keys have changed considerably in the '98 version that is being used in BAe International schools. The principles of the lessons remains valid, although the implementation will need to be modified.
